I was looking at an article on the MS web site.
"Set up and Use Internet Connection Sharing"
I came across a phrase, I'm not sure what it means.
"systems configured for static IP addresses"
Could someone please define it for me.
Thanks

When you connect to the internet, either via your internet service provider or your office LAN connection, you are assigned an IP address. This address identifies your computer from the other computers on the internet.
Your IP address can be either static, meaning it never changes, or dynamic, meaning each time you dial-in or login you are assigned a new address for that session.
Some, but not all, cable and ADSL providers provide a static IP address.
You would have to check with your ISP as to how your system is configured
