Jave Virtual Machine?

I like to play pool on yahoo, but recently, after I have tried to download the games, I get an error message that I need to install Java virtual machine.....but.....when I try to do just that, I get another error message that this software is not xp compatible...and fails to load.........I'm running xp home edition with IE6....I had xp pro before and was able to play those games with no problem...any ideas why this isn't working?....

microsoft's modified java virtual machine is no longer available for download. you'll need sun's java plugin...

Upgrading to SP1 gives you Java VM. At least on Pro, dunno about home

Thanks for the answers........I download and installed from the link given by Asendin.......I am not updating this machine.....last time I tried a sp1 it screwed up what I had.......so.....I'll wait til all the bugs are out of the updates too.......but thanks anyway.......

update.......after installation, I went over to Yahoo and played a few games.....works great.....however, and I'm not sure that installation really had anything to do with it, but my sound got turned off.......I had to go back into my sound properties and reset everything........now everything is fine though........thanks again for the help........

An alternative for someone wanting an XP compatible version of MS' JavaVM but not wanting to actually install SP1... You can simply get the JavaVM from the service pack and install just that. If you download the SP and extract it to a temp directory (using the /X switch), the msjavx86.exe will be in the root directory where you extracted the SP to. Running msjavx86 will install the JavaVM.
