SuperSparks, I phoned Microsoft on that number and they directed me to www.microsoft.com/uk/windowsxp
Amazingly they are giving it away completely free, not even charging postage, WOW..........
Qualifications:
I have read:
Windows 3.11 for Dummies
Windows 95 for Dummies (Second Chapter)
Fed up with UK 0870 Phone Numbers
Backup Boogaloo, you know it makes sense to do.

Yeah, they did the same thing with SP1 for OfficeXP a few months ago, before I got my b/b connection.
Actually, we seem to get some good deals in the UK even though the prices are nominally higher than in the US. I got ME at half price, £50 off WinXP Pro, and £120 off Office XP Pro. The only MS products I've had to pay full price for in the last 2 years were Win2000 and Encarta. Perhaps we're not as hard done by as we sometimes think we are

Interesting read at the following url regarding XP-SP1, particularly the referenced PC World article and the grc.com mini fix. Would seem that the SP1 fix is worse than the cure.

SP1 is off both my XP machines.
It would seem 1984 has arrived 18 yrs. late and Big Brother ain't the government, it's MS.
