Can some people test some software for me ?
Hi i have written my first program in visual basic which is a registry editor and i would like some people to test and make suggestions for me.
I recommend you dont use it on your primary pc just in case something goes wrong with it as it is a registry editor and we all know what messing with the registy can do or back up you registry before using this program.
it was written and tested with windows 98 i have had limited testing with millenium and found no problems
could you please send feed back to my forums which are on my webpage
thanks mike

It looks like a pretty good tweaker.
Does it come with an uninstaller and can the changes be reversed with the program if I make some tests?
I do not have a spare PC to try it on. (Using Win98FE)
Can you put up screenshots of the other tabs too?

Yep it comes with a uninstaller but this doesnt reverse the changes made in the registry.
there is not a undo file but the registry changes are usally enable / disable options so if you enable something and it dont work or something goes wrong then disable it.
i will put some more screen shots up soon
thanks for your help mike

I tried running the setup.exe and received the following error message:
Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system. Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now. You will need to restart Windows before you can run setup again. Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files.
***End***
During the install process I saw in the flash of files oleaut.dll and msvbm but did not recognize any others.
I elected to cancel as I believe my system files work really good with my current system Win98FE w/Service pack 1 and all critical updates along with IE5.5sp2.
Can you list the system files and versions that it was attempting to update so that I may determine which files it wants to update in my system files that it is seeing as outdated?
I would like to continue this exercise.

I looked in the syskeeper.cab and found no files that I was concerned about being updated in my system files so I went for it.
I liked the Clear MRU list options.
I tried the Clear Find and was not quite sure it did anything but sure enough the Find MRU was cleared.
It is a very nice tweaker.

has anybody else tried my program yet ?
also a useful feature in system keeper is "device manager killer"
but only use this if you do a motherboard change and have to remove all the system devices before the upgrade or are having hardware problems and want to install all your devices again.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you.
I like your program.
It is visually pleasing too.
I already have TweakUI and TweakI.
I have not used TweakI to make a single change and I only used TweakUI to change the desktop Shortcut arrows to the small arrows. Unfortunately a recent MS Critical update has modified the shell32.dll nullifying this Tweak feature. (I have worked around the problem and again have the little shortcut arrows only).
Perhaps incorporating a script to delete the index.bat file or the entire TIF folder requiring a reboot may be an additional feature to consider.
Another may be to delete the Typed URLs either selectively or all.

thanks for the feedback i will look into the typed url history for you and get back to you on that .
also do you know what critical update it was that made the shortcut arrows not work ? i will also look into theis feature and maybe add it to the explorer options.
thanx mike
