Ignore List?
To be honest, I didn't know there was an ignore list, so I was surprised to find that about 20 members had been added to mine.
I only found out about this when checking a post to find that a member was ignored. It would have to be the absolute last resort that I would contemplate such an action, and would make a mental note, rather than rely on the computer to do it for me anyway.
I suppose that my question is Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi,
I never noticed an ignore list either - just checked - mine is empty as I would expect it to be.

Thanks VP, it seems that there are some strange things happening with my CP, It also seems I have acquired a number of buddies that I didn't have before!!
Either the coffee I have been drinking has been laced and I have been adding buddies at a considerable rate of knots or something else
Should I open an X file?

When doing a search, I've noticed people on my "ignore list" a couple of times. Seems random and it hasn't been permanent. Very strange.

What exactly is the ignore list? What does it do?

From the FAQ:
What are the buddy and ignore lists? [edit buddy list] [edit ignore list]
The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this board. By going to your "My vB Home", you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online, and be able to send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allow you to send private messages to multiple board members at the same time. You may add any member of this board to your buddy list by clicking this button in a member's posts.
Ignore lists are used for those people who's messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.

putasolutions--I had someone show up on my Ignore list about two weeks ago. I certainly had not put him there. In fact I had not even known about the Ignore list until I clicked on that person's post. It was someone who was being questioned about double posting under two names. Don't know if that had anything to do with it. Anyway, my Ignore list is blank today--without my doing anything about that, either.
Gremlins, I guess.

Thanks Welshjim and Mawil, Glad to know that I'm not the only one...
I initially put it down to having had too much falling down water, then I remembered I haven't had any!!!
I'll just keep my beady little eye on it for a while longer, and if nothing happens, I'll put it down to Gremlin

I must be a really sad case round here - haven't got any entries in my buddies or ignore list
Still, could be worse I could have no buddies and a great big long ignore list or be entered into everybody elses ignore list
