Web Server Software
My ISP allows me to host my own website with unlimited bandwidth. So I am tempted, as one can imagine. My question is that I was looking at 4 potential server apps

Apache
SimpleServer
Url Live
Xitami
using XP Pro, and was wondering if anyone had used any of the above and what sort of problems I might expect

I have used apache for educational purposes, very fast and stable, but in a Linux box, it comes pre-configured if you use Caldera Openlinux 2.4.
The only problem is that you must at least learn Unix or Linux
to be able to make it work as you really wish, and believe me, linux is hard to master if you have no the time or the fever desire.
I think, therefore I exist.

Thanks for your reply Bin_Hex
Not sure that I'm going to have time to learn Linux as well as develop a website, and hold down a day job too

As far as I know, Windows 2000 comes with IIS server (Internet Information Server), however, I have no experience with it.
This could be another possible solution.

Cheers Bin_Hex
IIS comes with XP Pro, but I was a bit concerned about the security aspects of using Active Server Pages.
I have done a bit of research and it doesn't seem any less secure then any other. So I may go for that option, thanks again for the heads up
