    a floppy problem?

There are times when I go to grab a driver or file off a floppy and I get the message that the disk is not formatted, would I like to format it now.
The disk is fine and works on other machines so am I to assume that this is a common occurance in the death of a floppy drive?

How old is the drive? If it's been around for quite awhile and has had a' lot of use,it could be ready to bite the big one.

You might try removing the drive and using canned air to blow it out. But,,be sure you don't lodge what might be in it more securely. Try propping the drive door open with a match stick or whatever and blow towards it from a rear opening if possible...

    good luck...
