Talking My Floppy Disk Drive Is Going Nuts

When I turn on my computer, after windows and everything else starts up, my floppy disk drive goes mental, as if it is looking for something to do. I have no idea why it would do this.

Please help, it's driving me mad!!

That is exactly what it is trying to do. But hopefully it is just checking if there is a floppy there. If you were to go into Control Panel, then open System Properties. After the window pops up, click on the Performance tab, then look toward the bottom for a tab named File System and click on it. Now you will see a new smaller window open up named File System Properties, click on the tab named Floppy Disk. You will see a checkbox with the line "Search for new floppy disk drives each time your computer starts", uncheck the box. Click on Apply, then OK.
    Good luck.

it may be looking for a file you opened what was on a floppy
    Kind regards, Jaak.

When I pull my bootstraps, why don't I load Windows?

Problem sorted. It was something in my recent documents looking for the floppy drive.

    Thanks for your help!
