    dos 6 upgrade

    i have this 800 mb drive i put in and it once had win 95 i think , its formatted

    drive a is the big 51/4 floppy . i stick in a dos 6 upgrade disc and seems to be ready to install and says get 2 disc uninstal 1 and 2

    so how can it install without dos on there? its formatted

    I'm not sure I follow you here. You put in disk 1, and it went through and is now asking for disk 2? I imagine you would put in disk number 2.

    Perhaps you lack the complete set of DOS 6.2 disks. It's probably a fairly large set considering the smaller capacity of the 5.25" floppy, 360KB or 1.2MB depending on the format.

    no dos 6 i have is an upgrade and you have to have dos on it to put on an upgrade

    Hi Steppenwolf. I have DOS 6.0 but it came on three disks whereas the DOS 6.2 upgrade was on one. Do you have a full version of DOS 6 on the computer? I might ask if you have access to a 3 1/2" drive. If so (and you also have a CD-Rom drive) you may be able to boot from a Win 98 start disk and install Win 95 by choosing the "Start with CD-ROM support" option.

    thats ok , i was just curious . i just put on dos 5 and a cd rom driver and then i put on windows 95 . thanks anyway

    i just have upgrade of dos 6
