backing up system restore points
is there any way to backup system restore points?? I know that you can backup partitions using Ghost, but was wondering if you could backup certain system restore points in XP if say the harddrive went bad and you didn't want to lose everything. Does the fact that you have to contact MS to reissue you a serial number have anything to do with not being able to backup restore points??

As far as I know there's no way to back up Restore Points
System Restore has nothing to do with the Activation process
You only have to re-activate if you make substantial changes to your hardware or re-install the OS more than ?3 times in ?120 days
The whole point of system Restore is that it will restore your System back to how it was on a given date
As long as you don't go too far back then you won't lose much - you'll have to re-install any software which you installed after the given date and similarly with any Windows Updates
