    CPU Temperature ?


    My CPU is and AMD Athlon 1.3GHz

    What is the normal, average running temperauture for CPU's

    Mine is currently running at 48 Deg C \118 Deg F

    Is this within normal limits?

    Max temp for that chip is around 95C, so you are well within the operating limits. Having a good cooler (heat sink/fan); using a good thermal paste such as Artic Silver; a good intake fan and exhaust fan can help bring that temp down a little further.

    My 1.53 XP (1800) runs typically around 40 C with good cooling (click here for more).

    However, the current early summer we are having (in the 80's F ) brings the environment temperature up and therefore the CPU and Case temperature as well.
    Office=77F or 25C, Case=30C, CPU=45C
