This from the TDK support page:

Note: If you are experiencing poor writing performance with your veloCD 32/10/40

    Causes:
    1. IDE controller chipset driver needs to be updated.
    2. DMA is not enabled.
    3. VeloCD drive jumper is not set to Master.

    Possible Solutions:
    1. Visit your PC manufacturer's internet website to download the latest driver for your IDE controller chipset.
    2. Enable DMA for all drives, including the veloCD, hard drive, CD-ROM drive etc.
    3. Ensure that your veloCD drive is set to Master on the secondary IDE channel.

You can also view thru the support page.

What vid player are you using? I have the Playa from DivX and Power DVD from Cyberlink. Have heard some have problems using ATI's default player that comes with the card,if in fact, that's what you have?

Also,if you ripped from a DVD disc,it may have been encoded and caused the rip to be scrambled...

Sounds like you may need the proper codecs for your player.

You can get the Win Media codecs Here

    And/or the DivX codec HERE

Did you already try closing out all background programs before you tried to write to the CD?
