Heat.....Temp!!
Hi all,Here is my System Specs first....KG7-Lite + Athlon 1.2Ghz + 2x 256Mbt=512Mbt + 3D Blaster Savage 4 + 1x40Gbt HD + 1x20Gbt HD + Hitachi 2500DVD Rom Drive + Lite-On 24x10x40 CDR/CDRW + other miner peripheralls.
All in a Midi ATX Tower with plenty of room in it....On Floor towards front of tower is an extra fan blowing air over my Hard Disks and DVD Rom and lite-On. Temp use to be between 22c 31c 52c going to 22c 34c 55c now for some reason its going up to this 23c 36c 56c..But when I take the side of my case off it drops and stays at about 22c 30c 53c going to 22c 30c 57c. Can anyone tell me why this is happening. Do you think that Fan on the Floor of tower is not working proper or is it Keeping Hard Disks cool but sending Warm air towards Prosessor. Should I put a fan at back of Tower by the Prosessor to suck warm air out plus put bigger fan on floor at front of tower to blow more cool air around. Hope to have a good reply soon. Thanks in advance. Yours,Dennis

One low in front blowing in and a 2nd high in back near ps blowing out. Kind of like a straight line across the cpu.
Ribbons and wire out of the airFlow path.
This cooling thread has lots of good ideas in it.
I like to stay under 60 C for the cpu and under 30C for the mobo.
Remember AMD says max is 90C for the cpu.

Thanks Train for your kind reply. I think my fan on bottom is keeping Hard Disks n CDRoms cool and thats about it. I will put a larger fan in its place and one on the top back near cpu to exhaust the warm air out.
When I have done that I will let you know if it's lowered my temps or not.
Thanks again and Take Care.

Hi
keeping your hard drives cool is not bad at all...
Like train is thinking, a better exhaust may do the trick for you.
that upper corner can sure trap air...

I had great results with one of those little PCI slot fans. I put it near my video card and it blows the hot air out of the back of the computer.
Just a thought. Give it a try
