    Philips Digital 15inch Monitor 105S

A friend has a problem in so much as her screen resolution is set at 1024 x 760 on her monitor and she cant change it. Darn, shes running Windows but I forgot to ask which OS ( she has only had this system a few months though so will be Win98 or ME. She wants to change it to 800 x 600 but when she tries using the slider in Control Panel she gets a message saying something like - ATTENTION 63kz/100hz frequency is out of range. When she goes to the Monitor Tab in Advanced Settings and clicks on change there, it brings up a dialogue regarding updating the drivers rather than displaying manufacturers and models as mine does (I have a Laptop though - perhaps they are different). Can anyone help - it would be appreciated.

I think she'll have to update the display adapter driver, rather than the monitor and then adjust to 75 hertz in Display | Settings | Advanced | Monitor

Just in case someone has a similar problem, it turned out that it was a simple matter of adjusting the refresh rate. Was set on "Optimal" (this was apparently not the correct setting).
