    The Geforce series were the successor to the TNT, so I would guess the Geforce is faster.

    The Gforce 2 MX 400 is about equivalent to the original GeForce cards as far as perceptual speed. The TNT2 is pretty fast, but lacks the advanced T&L processor and many other features. Definately go for the MX 400. Or, wait until the GeForce 3's come down and get the DDR memory.

    The Geforce 2 needs a agp 2.0 slot , don't know what the tnt2 ultra needs.

    I didn't know this until I bought the Geforce in an auction so thats why I still have a crappy Banshee card in the computer ..

    There is no such thing as overkill. 'Open fire' and 'is it dead?' are the only sane options when threatened.

    I prefer the geforce. I have a 3d prophet2mx right now and it works great. It uses the geforce2 with 350mhz RAMDAC memory and runs 700m 32-bit texels/sec........ not bad at all

    To answer more specifically:

    tnt= 150 mhz memory, 250m pixels per second, 2.4 GB bandwidth

    GeForce2= 350 mhz memory,350m pixels per second,2.8 GB bandwidth
