    Sound Card Recommendations

    I have the ECS K7vza mobo http://www.ecsusa.com/K7VZA.cfm
and I want to use an aftermarket sound card because the onboard is not very good for playing games....I am running windows 2000 pro...what do you suggest for me to use that is compatible with this O.S. I also listen to cds and mp3s on the computer and I appreciate good quality sound.

I heard Turtle Beach Santa Cruz is very good and less expensive than comparible cards.

Sarrkazztic I would recommend that you go with a SoundBlaster. IMHO SoundBlaster is the best brand of sound card that has ever been made!

There have been some reported problems between VIA chipsets and SB. probably depends on your configuration. Been running a SB Live! card with VIA for over a year now with no conflicts (as long as the SB 16 Emulator is turned off---didn't want/need it anyway).
