A3D digital out to home theater system.
Hi all.
I have this Aureal SQ1500 sound card installed and has this digital out that I have tried connecting to the digital in of my 1100 watt home theater and cannot get sound.
I used a 12 foot OFC cable with RCA plugs, is this the correct cable for digital connections?
Home theater was set to digital for the input.
I have tried both 32 and 48 KHZ settings with no dice.
Either the card is not giving output, or I'm using the incorrect cable.
I'm inexpeirenced with Coax, I'm an fiber optic type.
Ideas?

Well its not the official recommended cable but, it is what i use and it works fine so i didn't bother wasting my money upgrading it. so it should work normal 4 u 2.
but i think the proper cable is known simpley as a "digital coax cable/lead" (shop should know what u mean anyway) but theres probably a more technical name for it tho!
do u have to enable the Digital Out on ur soundcard? i Have a SB Live 1024 and it only works when enabled!

Just my opinions from past experience...and guessing. Post back to let others know if our ideas worked!
With a good backup program u can UNDO (almost) all your mistakes & bad installs etc in Windows!

Hi,
I'll assume the RCA type cables should work, as you say yours did.
I've searched high and low for somthing to toggle the digital otput on, I'm not finding one.
Too bad Aureal went out of Biz and no longer gives support.
Mach and Jaak gave me a link to a forum that deals with Aureal a while back, I should look into that.
Will keep you posted.
