MDM voltage alarm

Hi all,

I recently downoladed newest version of MDM Motherboard monitor and noticed alarm options were disabled by default. the voltage tolerences for all voltages were set at 5% and most if not all the voltage sensors went into alarm constantly.

Is 5% too tight of a tolerence or is this Enlight 300W PSU defective?

Out of curiosity what is your house voltage when this happens? Or is it happening all the time as your post indicates. Do you think heat is a factor?

I havent checked the house voltage with a DMM yet, but this PC is connected to an aged UPS, so any flunctuations in line voltage should in theory be leveled out.

This PSU is fairly new and still covered by warranty and will exchange it if its output voltage tolerence should be within 5%.

I just did a 30 second test and the core voltage, +12v, and -12v went into alarm.

What's the make and model of the PS? Did a check yesterday in general and didn't come up with any thing. Seems like a 10% swing is a lot of tolerance.

Had the same problem a couple of times. Voltage can differ quite a lot from board to board. If your starting point for a particular board lies heavily to one side of your area of tolerance, you really can't avoid the alarm going off pretty fast.
I'd go with 10 % too.

PSU make and model:Enlight HPC-300-100 REV:C

Board: ASUS CUSL2-C.

I'll change the alarm tolerance to 10% and see what happens.

I am just curious if I really should be within 5%.

Update:

Found reason Core voltage went into alarm, default core setting was 2.00 volt when it should be 1.66. Changed voltage setting to 1.66 and moved tolerance back to 5%.

+12v and -12v still went into alarm at 5%, I have changed tolerence on those two to 7% and so far no alerts.

Think 7% is still an acceptable tolerence for this board? or should it be better?
