    ps\2 keyboard problems

say, i need some help. i just build a new computer, and it refuses to accept my beloved ps\2 keyboard. a very nice, heavy, and quiet compaq one.
i don't know what might be happening, but it accepts any other type of ps\2 keyboard. is because it's old?
don't know much of this but, could it be that the compaq keyboard needs a jumper setting or something? when i plug it into the the computer it lights all the leds -and then turns them off-, but it doesn't allow me to type anything.
any info is welcomed, and appreciated.

ps: i know that i can buy a new one for very little money, but i love that keyboard, and i already spent a lot of money, nearly 200 u$s, making that computer.

Compaq keyboards have a reputation for not cooperating with other systems. Frankly, I'd bust out the wallet and get a new one.

thanks, yeah, i guess you're right, but i loved that keyboard, sniff.
and, damn, is hard to get a decent keyboard around here, all of them are those creamy monster that make a lot of noice, and that it won't last a season.
    en fin, thanks anyway.
