Operation Delta 8
Time to start another section. The Queen of Hearts and I continue towards our goal - which is to build a computer - both of us. A lot of members have put in their two cents worth to both educate and help us. Without them, we could not do this. Feel free to make a comment or suggestion. We thank you for your effort. See you two showed, but the QoH must have started cleaning again.
Almost forgot, checked on some cutting edge components like a 1GB processer. How many you want at $1463. Wow.

Hey Train--Via Tech USB? Yikes! I'd stay away from that one.

There were negative comments on the via this week I noticed. What's the biggest problem with them do you think?

The primary problem thatI've observed on the 98 forum is the USB drivers--lot of conflicts and no-go's. Something to do with the Via 4-in-1 drivers, too. Not sure if they've been resolved yet by Via--haven't really looked into it.

One question I see on my notes is this: do we need a pencil soldering iron, 15w or 33.3w for any thing?

I see no reason for it. Just plugging things in is all.
But I have a digital multimeter already. I use it very often. But, only on that one computer though.

That's right--all plug-in. May want that little computer tool kit though--Phillips screwdriver, needlenose, etc.--all non-magnetic.
Well boys and girls--gotta call it a night.
Merry Christmas to all of you--be safe.
