    Operation Delta 7

Op De 7 now starts for the same reason as before. For anyone looking for the first time, the Queen of Hearts and I are going to build us each a computer. We Started this project knowing nothing. We have had a lot of help from others that we are very thankful for. I will leave it at that.

Pretty bad when it cost more to ship it than the value of what's in the box.

Awwwwww....I already got a CD burner...

Hmmmm...let's see if this list is up to date:
    InWin S500 case w/ 300W ps
    WD 7200rpm ATA-66 or 100 hard drive
    Abit BX 133-RAID mobo
    PNY 128mb PC-133 RAM
GeForce 2-based or Voodoo-based vid card
    SoundBlaster Live! sound card
Any ole floppy drive (unless it's made by Mattel)
    Kenwood 72x CD-ROM and/or HP CD-R/RW
Creative DVD CD-ROM if you're into that
A good UPS to plug it all in to.
Current monitor or perhaps a Sony or Viewsonic.
    Paid up electric bill
Triple-strand razor wire to keep everyone else off of the new system.

Is this the list where it stands now?

    PNY RAM ?

Looks good so far. Oh, I was looking for prices and found some listings I was confused about. What does (bulk) mean ?
You have to buy 50 million to get it at that price ?

"Bulk" usually is referring to bulk rate--i.e. wholesale--have to be a legit vendor or corporate buyer for those prices. (No...you don't want or need a crate of RAM ).

PNY is a RAM manufacturer. One of the best, in my opinion. Readily available in stores or on the Net.

greengoose1: Actually, no. Quite happy with my setup--perhaps a new case. Got my sights set for some big fish for the future though----get this system so fast that to bring up a file I just hafta think about it...

You forgot the processor bistro !

What I was confused about was that in the list of Pentiumd there are four of each mhz.
They all look alike to me. How would I know which one to pick ? Like this page

And on the Video Card. Which slot ?
