booted off when checking email
I have a computer here that when you are connected to IE6 and go to check mail the dial up connection disconnects. This also happens when going from checking mail to surfing. When going fromm IE to outlook express, the error that comes up is "an error while connecting to dialup networking". The problem started after the
sulfnbk.exe was deleted after receiving the hoax email but I can't see where this should have an effect on IE or email? Any ideas as to where to look or settings to check?
thanks
Brent

check this to start-open outlook express -tools-options-
connection tab-- uncheck...hangup after sending and receiving
on general tab, uncheck send/receive at startup.
the more you make...
the more they take.

thanks nlday,
those were already unchecked. I set it to prompt before dialing connecting and now it works as long as you check do not dial and use existing connection. if you check do not show this again then it screws up again.

Hi coops:
As for the sulfnbk.exe, I blatantly ripped this off symnatec for the fix:
Here
If you are using Windows Me, you can restore the file using the System Configuration Utility.
1. Click Start and then click Run.
2. Type msconfig and then press Enter.
3. Click Extract Files. The "Extract one file from installation disk" dialog box appears.
4. In the "Specify the system file you would like to restore" box, type the following, and then click Start:
c:\windows\command\sulfnbk.exe
NOTE: If you installed Windows to a different location, make the appropriate substitution.
The Extract File dialog box appears.
5. Next to the "Restore from" box, click Browse, and browse to the location of the Windows installation files. If they were copied to the hard drive, this is, by default, C:\Windows\Options\Install. You can also insert the Windows installation CD in the CD-ROM drive and browse to that location.
6. Click OK and follow the prompts.
