selective startup for troubleshooting
I used MSCONFIG to disable some things that were loading at startup and used the clean up feature...now everytime my computer boots it says selective startup instead of normal startup.....and the boxes I unchecked are still in there how can I get those totally out and make the pc boot normally again.
I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.Leonardo da Vinci

This involves editing the Registry, so you may want to make a backup before you start:
These are the different areas a program may be set to run at Windows startup:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce
Put all the check marks back into MSCONFIG. Then, go into those registry keys and delete the entries you want.
Or, if memory serves me correctly, there's a check mark in the Selective Startup warning box to Not Show This Again.
