I just set up a new wireless network. After much fiddling, I finally got communication between my laptop and desktop via an Ad Hoc configuration. The laptop has a built-in wireless adaptor and the desktop has a Belkin USB wireless network adaptor. I can view the files on each computer but they take 2-3 minutes to display. My signal strength is "excellent" and both computers are running Windows XP. I could use some help figuring out why this is so slow. Thanks.
