Long boot time
Hello,
I have a friend who has 2 machines (running Windows) hooked up together with a hub and some network cable. One of the computers takes a really long time (about 5 minutes) to boot. Does anyone know what I can try to get the boot time down to normal?
Thank you,
- Sean

Based on my experience with Windoze - a 5 minute boot-up is normal.

Here's what I did:
- Added the IP address of 192.168.0.1 to the TCP/IP properties of the network card
- Added the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 to the TCP/IP properties of the network card
- Removed 3 occurences of network.vbs (a virus) from the slow machine
That sped up the boot process quite a bit.

I had the same problem and tried your suggestion and now my computer boots up fine.
