    creating network socket connection

    my laptop says it is unable to create a network socket connection. how do I get it to see the internet through network?

    You do need to setup sharing software.

    98SE and up have Internet Connection Sharing built in. www.analogx.com has a freeware proxy program.
    Wingate is another program i've heard of.
