    Using Ping.exe in Windows 95

In my windows 95 computer When I try to ping an IP Address I get the following error code.

"Ping: Transmit Failed, error code 10091"

This happens even when I try to ping 127.0.0.1

    I've tried
    1. Re-Installing TCP/IP

    2. Removing the Network card & all services and protocols associated with it and then re-installing them after a reboot.

3.Copying the Ping.exe file from another windows 95 machine.

Is there anything else that I can try?

    Hi kopite

Have you recently updated your winsock by any chance?

    If so try this:

I could not believe this post as this happened on two systems today at work!

    I hope this helps.
    Rgds

Brilliant. That worked. Thanks a Mil DDavidson.

By the way would you know why in Excel 97 sr2 the cells when expanded would automatically shrink to their natrul size once the document is re-opened after it has been saved and closed. Is this due to a bug that I dont know of?
