I need a driver for a Compaq NIC card for 6708 presario
I had to reinstall the OS for a Compaq Presario 6708 model and the restore CD did not give me the drivers that originally went with the NIC card. Can anyone recommend a generic driver that will work or the actual driver that it calls for?
Thanks for your help.

Did the NIC card came with you Compaq PC?
IF yes, you can probably find it on Compaq web to download.
If no, you may have to open up your pc to check what brand and model your nic cards is.

Ok, it's a removable card so let's take it out of the computer. On one side or the other you will find an FCC identification number. You need to write this down and go to http://www.windrivers.com, click on their advanced lookup link (upper left near corner).
If all goes well you should pretty much have the manufacture, model # and some other details to go on. Now click on the link for Network Adapters and find your manufacture. Download, install, pat yourself on the back.
P.S. if you are lucky in your search for the FCC# you might find the part#. But that doesn't happen all the time.
