WIN98 2nd Internet Connection Sharing
I have 3 computers with 10/100 PCI cards installed as well as a hub and a DSL modem. I want to be able to use the DSL line from all 3 as well as share printers. I have a partially set-up network using WIN98 2nd edition's ICS. 2 computers using D-link cards can share resources, however the host, with the DSL conncection, cannot be found by those two (it has a Kingston 10/100 card installed)
1. Sharing is set-up and verified on all computers.
2. Hub connections have been switched around and there is no change.
3. All PC's are within 50 feet of each other, are connected with CAT5 cable, using a D-link hub.
4. the DSL line is in the "uplink" jack, and that is the only jack that maintains the DLS connection for the host computer.
Does anyone know if the Kingston PC card software needs to be placed onto the 2 PCs using the D-Link cards?
Do I need a 2nd Ethernet card in the host PC? I tried that originally, but it didn't work, but I was not as far along in getting the network to work back then, so maybe a I need to try that again. Could it be the IP addresses? The host needs address 63.194.81.170 to connect to the DSL line, ICS will allow an option to "automatically assign IP" which I selected. Thanks for any help.
