Compguy Pete or Housen Maratouk
In the previous test posting I did, it posted correctly, I replied, it shows that I replied in the count, but my reply isn't showing in the post. I modified the original post with more text, it isn't showing my edit. I originally thought that maybe my IE was somehow screwed, so I did the same test over at GlideTech. It worked over there. Do you have any suggestions? -mk

In a word - caching.
I've had problems with some ISPs that cache the documents. Try hitting F5 or the refresh icon.

I wish it were that simple. I can see the response if I'm posting another response. But not after I've completed a response. I keep my cache cleaned daily, and no amount of refreshing makes my response visible to me. -mk

I have seen this problem 3 times since the big slow down last spring. You post to a thread, it shows it has another post count and is moved to the top of the main page, but when you go inside you don't see the last post made. The time that you made the post is also on the main page. AND it is not only you who can't see it. Twice it was my posts that this happened to in a thread, the other someone else had clearly posted but the post wasn't visable when I clicked that thread. So I posted "test" and both showed up, and then I deleted my "test" post. All was well. There is a glitch scattered through out the system. All 3 of the ones I saw were in the Win98 forum, but I don't get into the others that much except Hardware Central For Sale where I have yet to see it happen. Doesn't mean that it doesn't.

Steve R Jones
I do at work, I'm not too sure about my home computer where I'm havng this problem. I'll check it out later this afternoon. Thanks, I hope this solves the problem.
ghouldini,
To add insult to missery, When this problem occurs, if you go to post another reply, you can see your previous post there, but not in the original thread.
Based on some of my tests, I would assume the problem would be on my computer. But if that were the case, I would expect to see the same problem on other UBB forum sites. But I don't.
What's also courious, when this originally happened yesterday morning, I replied to someone from home in the Unix forum. I couldn't see it. I came to work, and couldn't see it here either. Ireplied again from work, and they both then became visible. Now today, slightly different. I posted a reply to this thread this morning twice, and could not see either one. But I can see them both here at work. Go figure.
This happened to me once before, maybe a month ago, on one reply, but the problem went away. Not so this time. -mk

I have been having this problem for over two months. Apparently I was not the only one having problems at the time, as indicated in my and others posts from September:

Tried both, as well as most of the other suggestions in the previous threads. No help. Still haven't tried to repair IE5.0, (or install IE5.01 as "repair" isn't available to me) as it seems to be a problem only on the Windows 98 forum, and others seem to be having the problem, too, just not as severe. (Also, I hate making that kind of change when my system otherwise seems to be working so well. Hate to rock the boat, when as a whole I have a good thing going!) Usually I can see recent posts by choosing "post reply" even though I don't intend to reply. But it is especially annoying when one discovers that you made a mistake and need to edit a post, as you can't do that. Once I was unable to see my own posts for over eight hours!
Last night on Windows 98 forum there were eleven posts shown on the index page on a particular thread, but I was only able to see four of them until I went to "post reply."
