    avi to mpg

Help! Help! Are there any programs I can get that converts AVI files to MPEG2 or the equal medium of that of a VCD? I would gladly appreciate any advice. Thank you.

For Joel if he still frequents the forum. If you are running XP how do you get VideoWave III to work with an MPEG from a memory stick? The file will play in Quicktime 5, but is nothing but black in VideoWave III which gives an error. Media player actually plays the file, but the video is just black nothing, the audio comes out fine.

Here's one other site, http://www.honestech.com/product00.html The price is somewhat high, but these programs work really well.
