    webpage & graphics display

I have made some web graphics using paint shop pro 7 layering some jpeg photos and text. It looks great in paintshop, but when I insert into a webpage using front page express, then check it out on explorer, it is no longer a crisp, clean image. There is some bleeding of colors into the background. What is causing this difference? I have noticed at other times using front page express, even text typed onto the page will not appear as crisp on the webpage.

Are you working on the files as JPEG's? You shouldn't be due to the lossy JPG file format. Graphic work should NEVER NEVER be done using JPG. You should layer the images using the proprietary file format, TIFF, or some other lossless file format.

Every time you save a JPG, you loose about 20% (or variable you set) of the image information which is why it is such a good web presentation file. 1st generation saves almost always look as good as the original then they get progressively worse.

If that's not your problem, please post back with more details.

By no means an expert on FP... but, when you insert the graphic, does FP create a copy in your local web folder? And if so what's the quality set at? Check options/preferences and such.... also check the image itself, if memory serves if you go into properties of the image on the web page there's a place to indicate 'quality' in a percentage.... check on some of that and see if it gets you anywhere.... sorry not more help.
Agree with that.... also check that when you ultimately save it as a jpeg for web use that you save the jpg at 100% quality in PSP.
