OCR
What is the best OCR software out today? I have used programs in the past, but by the time I was done editing the scan, I could have typed the whole thing faster. Surely by now, technology has improved some.
Free software or not, doesn't matter as long as it's good.
Thanks

ab919--I believe the ScanSoft family of OCR programs is well regarded, but they are not cheap http://www.scansoft.com/products/ocr.asp
Search for "optical character recognition" at www.google.com and you will see lots of articles on the subject.

I think this is a good price on OmniPage Pro 11. http://www.scantips.com/pagis.html
I bought the “upgrade” for OmniPage 9 a couple of years ago and it was the full program. It didn’t check for any installed OCR.
I wish to be laid to rest where I have so serenely spent my golden years. Bury me in my Crown Victoria in the left lane of US19.
