    Image Type in Word 2000

I have a rather large Word document in which I have inserted a large number of images. Most of these images are .bmp images and some are .gif images. Is there any way for me to identify which images are bmp's?

    Hi JW,

Just had a look at Microsoft Word to see if I could work it out - there doesn't appear to be a way of getting into the image properties once they are in a document.

If you have all your image files in a folder together you can just check the files extensions in Windows Explorer - and if you hve your view set to AS WEB PAGE you can see a review of the picture when you click on the file in the WExplorer.

I assume you are just trying to reduce the size of the end product. I think you will need to change all your large image files for this but it depends on what you are going to do with the doc in the end.
