Editor with imbed command

Doesn't have to be an editor actually tho' that would be most convenient. I want to include a command like:

.imbed c:\mydata\somefile.txt

in a text file. The editor would insert somefile.txt at that point in the file I was editing.

I'm used to editors on mainframes where such commands are standard. Why so rare on PC editors?


Never mind. I found a plug-in that does exactly what I want in my favorite editor.

Sure - tho its an HTML editor... HTMLKit and IncludeHTML
