Any kiwis out there using Xtra?

Some time ago, I posted a topic re outward bound attempts being intercepted by my Firewall to a New Zealand address, 210.54.118.228.adsl.xtra.co.nz. This was duely reported to Xtra Security and they said it was a school and the problem would be checked. Well, many months down the track, it still persists. I have looked for trojans, spyware, cleaned out the registry, you name it and I've looked at it. Then, last night, I was contacted by another Xtra user who saw my post on another forum and is having exactly the same problem. He had also contacted Xtra and was told that no other incidents had been reported which is not true. If there are any Xtra users out there, would you please check your firewall logs and post back if you notice any attempt to connect to the above address. Inward attempts would also be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hiya AnnMarie:
Is there any chance that it's because it's bundled with something like MSN Chat/ Messenger?

Hmmm, I just replied to Daizy's post and it didnt register - oh well.

Hiya Daizy, I already had an account with Xtra so on this PC (the one having the problem with outward bound attempts), I only installed the browser that came on their installation CDRom. Its IE5, which I have since upgraded to SP2. MS Update reports that its a customised version of IE5. Customised with what I wonder?

    Hi again AnnMarie:
I went over to Xtra's pages last night and did some reading. Like you, I wonder just what it's bundled with that would make it call home (or out)
Wish I could help. I'll keep my eyes peeled though, and let you know if I come across anything.

Thanks Daizy - I really appreciate your input and if you find anything, that would be a bonus.

    Hi AnnMarie:
I just thought of something? You don't have any of those "Keep It Alive" utilities to stop time outs do you?

    *edit*
Not useful at all....but scroll to the bottom of this page. Reassurance that Xtra's getting complaints.

Hi Daizy - nope, no "keep alive" utility. Thanks for that site - it was quite interesting.

Thanks for the "bump" Daizy. It doesnt look as if there are any fellow kiwi's out there. Hey, if you are, and your firewall is not reporting any problems with attempted connections to or from this IP#, just knowing that would help to determine how widespread this issue might be.
