Upgrade to IE 6, you'lll be fine, it's great. You won't need all those Service Packs with IE6 but if you stay with IE 5.5 get all the service packs and critical updates off the Windows Update site -

I apologise for stating something you already know.

Just like ALL the software releases, there WILL be a service pak for 6. ITs just a matter of time.

No should you upgrade, well thats upto you. If you use quicktime at all I say NO> MS has discontiued the plugin that allowed Quicktime to interact within IE without a problem. There is a new "patch or plugin" which ever you want to call it but it just doesnt seem the same.

    Hey there,

Rocky, had you asked the same question about 5 months ago I would have repeated Styx's comments: I too thought it was brill and had no problems with it for about 3 months...

Only recently did I start to have sporadic connection problems (I identified that it wasn't my ISP), slow loading and on a few occasions, I could connect but no pages would come up! Downloading exe's or my latest virus definitions was fine but anything on a page wouldn't show up! Aargh!

Anyway, I got rid of it about two weeks ago and reverted back to IE 5.5 sp2 (in other words, the best damn browser around at the moment! ).

Now my advice to other users is to either upgrade to IE5.5 (if they are using IE5.1) and get the service pack(s) and wait for the first service pack to be released for IE6! This is what I'm doing.

Hope this helps mate and please post back results!

    Mo
