I have 2 problems with IE 6 please help
Hi hows everybody ?
anyway to the question(s)
first when i use the internet for a while internet explorer stops sending page requests well what i mean is i type a web address in the address bar and hit go/enter and no internet activity happens the hourglass changes to say it is busy.
At first i thought my adsl connection was playing up but i found if i use the internet for anything else for example morpheus or flashfxp it transfers data but not when i use IE after a while it will work no problem for a while but then it will do the same its not really a problem but annoying.
the second is i have lost my status bar which i noticed it wasnt there when i wanted to see if it had found the website and waiting for a reply.
IE version = 6.0.2600.0000
update versions = 0
i have tried many sites it works when i use the ping command etc.. so whats the problem.
Thanx mike

I sure hope you get an answer...I bopped in here thinking it was my connection too. Same thing happens here, email, icq whatever else will connect...but IE browser won't. I end up shutting everything down, rebooting and crossing my fingers it will work again.
I'm still using IE 6.0.2479.0006 (Ran update utility..still no go)

Hi there - so glad there are others out there!
Looks like a problem I've been having for a few months now - and it's driving me MAD!
Email etc.. works fine continously, as does IE at start - after browsing for a few minutes when I click on a link, favourite or type in web address - nothing happens. Icon keeps spinning, but no action in the status bar. Occaisionally (after about 1-5 mins) the page will load or IE will simply re-load the same page, but more often it simply freezes - I have to disconnect & try again.
I have 2 pcs (1st= WIN98SE, 64M RAM, 10GB Hard, IE5. 2nd= WINME, 192M RAM, 10GB Hard, IE6.0 V2479.0006 ) - the problem occurs on both. I've tried repairing/re-installing/upgrading IE, checked for corrupted password files, tried another ISP, run scandisk, defrag, regedit, regclean, checked for softward/hardware conflicts & all appears to be OK.
If I ping a site it seems OK, just when I try to browse it - even tried downloading programme from vmtu.com - which apparently works for some people - but not for me!
I've checked TCP/ICP settings and again all correct.
PLEASE - SOMEBODY STOP THIS MADNESS!!

Hi there,
I might have had the same problem so can you go to this site and tell me if everything works for you http://e-syed.net/skriptlab/skriptlib.htm or if you get errors.

Hi Killroy
Tried the link , but the page couldn't be found. Going to the home page, it appears the site is under construction at the moment (unless that was the error you were talking about!!!)
Cheers anyway!
