not the cr*p that says increase your internet connection by 200% i mean things that you have noticed improvements on your own connection.

i use worldonline (tiscali) in the uk
    i have 512kbps connection
    windows 2000
    athlon 1gz
    383mb ram

i must change my signature to include this stuff

oh yer i also heard about a dsl hack that takes of the speed limit of your connection i dont wanna know how to do it(well i do but not on this board)but i just wanna know if it is true

    Many thanx

    Mike

Do you know what your RWIN size is? That is the Receive window. Mine was set at default of 8760. I was able to increase it by going to PC Pitstop and asking them to check my DSL connection. Then they have a selection for you to increase your RWIN and it does improve the speed. My RWIN is now 64240.

Try DSLreports for tweaks and speed tests etc.

    Look under DSLR Tools

PC Pitstop just analyzes your machine. They really aren't experts on broadband connections. If you want a prfessional outlook on high-speed internet connection, go to:www.DSLreports.com
They have a small program you download called DRTCP and it sets your RWIN and tells you how to set your MTU so you can get the best performance out of your broadband connection. Be it DSL, Cable, or Satellite.
