ethernet cable modem on a phoneline

At the last adress I was on the net using a cable connection with an ethernet modem does antone know if I can use this modem on my phoneline?
I'm using a 56k modem now and though my cable modem might be faster.
    Any thoughts out there?

    hi,

cable modems use coaxial cable which provides for the high speed access and standard phone wires rarely provide for 56k connections never mind anything faster so i dont think it wold work, but someone else might have some ideas.

    regards
