    Gnome taskbar crashes as soon as loaded

    I just done a complete install of Redhat 7.2 and when I try to log on into Gnome I recieve a message telling me that the taskbar has crashed. Is this a bug in redhat 7.2 or could it be machine specific?
    It is not a real concern because I prefer to use KDE but I would like to know why it is doing this.
    Machine specs;
    Intel Celeron 300
    320MB RAM
    20GB hard drive
    16MB Voodoo Banshee
    USB A4 Tech wheel mouse
    Generic PS/2 keyboard.

    Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.
    Yuri.

    Try using BlackBox or WindowMaker instead. They require alot less system overhead.

    Blackbox does not come with Redhat's distro, (i wish like heck they would include it) getting Blackbox installed is easy but getting xinitrc to make it boot is touchy, Window maker is your best bet because it is included with Redhat and is a no brainer to setup & edit the menus to your liking...

    Yes, it is a bug.I've seen it. Ive seen it with 7.3 too after downloading the patches and updates.

    And Yes, Red Hat has a fix for it!

    Thanks for the replies but as I said in my first post I prefer to use KDE. The reason that I am asking is that I have installed Redhat 7.2 on a server machine (P3 500) and I get the same problem. The proper error message is
    "Application 'panel' (process 1294) has crashed due to a fatal error (segmentation fault)"
    So is it a bug with 7.2 or just pure bad luck?
