I got this link from here. Although a bit dated now, from around 93 - 94 I would guess, it still should provide a good read for anyone really interested in UNIX and it's history. It will also give some good insight into why Linux is what it is, instead of being MS WIN-like. Enjoy. -mk

thanks mike, is really good... i`m including a little link myself that, even if is not an faq, it has a lot of info regarding the mechanics of unix, explained in a very simple and straight fashion.
