    DOS & REM

I have at slight problem on a Win98 box, at bootup I get a c:\ ProgramFiles\yada\yada\yada line. The problem is, I would like to REM this out from config.sys. (I think). Dear old DOS is ever so rusty. I remember going into Run where I typed something and then I REM’d out the offensive line in Notepad and Saved. I hope this is clear enough!!

That would be Start - Run - Sysedit.

NB:perhaps a good idea would be Run to remember the commands (regedit, sysedit) that are typed like the address bar in Web Browsers does.

    Hello
It does ! in Windows 98SE. My run box has autocomplete. Couldn't tell you how it is set up though.

Other methods to accomplish what you want are:
Start> Run> MSCONFIG> Edit the Config Sys file from there.

Open a DOS window and type: edit config.sys [enter] from the C:\> prompt

In Explorer, right-click on config.sys and choose 'Open With' and select 'Notepad' and edit from there.

    Good Luck,
    Dave
