    FAT16 maximum file number in the root dir?

    FAT16 maximum file number in the root dir?

    I think the question is simple enough... but i just can't remember it, and i can't find any reference...

    If anyone has the info... would be nice

    i believe its 512 entries in root

    The directory [.] is the current directory
    The root is an entry in and of itself, therfore the total number of file or directory entries you may add is 511.

    If your using long file names the rules change.
