Problems installing dos
I know everyone here is having the same problem just about, so i apologize for my own idiocy. I have downloaded dos6.2 from the following url
welcome.to/400dns
I unziped it and used winimage to extract it to 3 separate floppies. It will not boot using disk one. Sometimes is gives invalid system disk error sometimes it just does nothing. I can use other boot disks so I know its not the drive. Has anyone else successfully used the above url to download dos and install it correctly or should i try to download somewhere else?
Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Download a DOS bootdisk from
www.bootdisk.com
P.S. Also consider dowloading DR-DOS from www.lineo.com
Its 100% MS-DOS compliant and doesn't have Y2K problems ... It also has some nifty features (see my year2000 and 2 digit date thread!)

I have downloaded the dos bootdisk with cd support at bootdisk.com. BUT that is not a dos installation disk, I would have to boot using the floppy everytime i turn on my computer. is there a way to install dos from the disks on bootdisk.com?

at the A:\ prompt type
SYS C:
The computer should boot without the floppy after that. CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files will have to be created to load drivers.

If you are still having problems go to http://threepointone.2000c.net and download the self extracting files and then click on step by step installation. I did and I had no problems making the installation disks once I figured out the steps to make them..good luck..
