Formating Macintosh DS, HD 1.4 MB to IBM
I have some 3M Pre-formatted to Macintosh DS, HD 1.4Mb floppies.
Can these be formatted to IBM so I can use them on my Compaq?

Of course.
You can format it either within your Mac if you have PC Exchange. Simply choose format it as DOS 1.44..
Or you can just pop it into your PC and reformat it.
Within Win 9X, just right click on the floppy drive icon and choose format.
Within DOS, issuing format a:

Within DOS format A: does not work. The drive cannot - will not allow you to use DOS command to re-format. That prompted my query in the first place. Yes, the My Computer does the job in Windows 95/98. Thanks for the ***istance...
