SE/30 will not boot from hard drive
I have a Mac SE/30 with 1 External Hard Drive. The Mac boots fine from floppy and the Hard Disk shows up also. I decided to load system 6.5 on hard drive and boot from the hard drive - upon restart all I get is a flashing question mark. The hard drive has been formatted and system 6.5 loaded and I still get the question mark. Any hints.....

Can it be as simple as selecting the SE30 HD in the Startup Disk control panel after starting up from the external HD?
Have you opened and closed the System folder so that it is "blessed" (recognized)?
Other thoughts:
Discard the Finder Preferences file.
Rebuild the Desktop.
Zap the PRAM.
When you put in a new system, the Mac sometimes needs help in recognizing it.
