i cant get disk defragmenter to work it say's
disk defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume : (c)
i have seen on the internet about dirty bits etc... and chkdsk /f and chkdsk /f/v etc... chkdsk /f wont work within windows so it asks me if i want to run chkdsk next time the computer restarts i choose yes. but i keep getting the same thing.
this is a extra bit to my first problem.

Mike3d, i posted a page for disabling chkdsk on your previous thread listed on link above, perhaps that will assist in this issue as well..by that I mean the disabling of chdsk, you may be able to run disk defrag...without getting that message..... Just a thought...good luck

Mike3D,
Why don't you try a 3rd party defrager. There are several out on the web that you could try free for 30 days. Maybe one of them could clear the problem you are having with the XP defrag.
Diskeeper is a good one. Also try this;

Look for VoptXP. I use this one and it is great.
