Internet Explorer Causes System to Pause

I have a client PC running Windows 2000 Professional and IE 5.5.

Running 384mb RAM, 1.1GHZ System.

When the user constantly enter's data into a form...e.g. a bit paragraph part way through the system will pauses briefly the hard drive light flashes then a few secs later it catches up and carries on.

The CPU stays at a low, and there are no major programs open.

We have increased the page file size,deleted the page file.upgraded I.E. re-installed the Windows Service Packs.

Any Ideas greatly appreciated.
