Active Directory + VPN

Hi,

I have installed Active Directory on my Domain.

I made a BDC...when i run DC Promo it says it cannot connect to my PDC or it is not an Active Directory Controller??

Also there is a Regitry Hack to allow the VPN to use the SAM database of the Domain instead of the local machine, when it is a Stand-Alone Server.

To answer your dcpromo question, there' no such thing as a Win2K BDC. So, if you're trying to promote a member server to a Domain Controller, make sure that the TCP/IP stack is pointing to a valid DNS server for your Domain. Also, make sure the computer that hosts the Domain Naming Master role is online.
